More accusations of misconduct are being leveled against Winnebago County Coroner Barry Busby.
Former Deputy Coroner Donna Francouer told the county’s Judiciary and Public Safety Committee that Busby was using organ donation to make money. She says he encouraged funeral homes to work with the organizations that handle organ and tissue donations, for kickbacks and financial gain.
Francour says Busby’s son worked for a donation company as well.
Busby is denying the accusations. He told WHBY News “a lot of people are going to find themselves under the bus.”
The Judiciary and Public Safety Committee approved a vote of no confidence in Busby, and formally censured him this morning.
