Plans to reduce overcrowding in Appleton elementary schools range in cost from 54-million dollars to as much as 140-million. The School District’s Future Needs Committee is considering eight plans–several of which call for sixth graders to move into Appleton middle schools. Chief Financial Officer Greg Hartjes says now would be the time to consider expansion projects, as previous debt issues are coming off the taxrolls. The Future Needs Committee will now work on reducing their options to just three plans they can take to the Appleton School Board early next year.
