Last month, Slipknot and Stone Sour frontman Corey Taylor started auctioning off 13 of his guitars on eBay to benefit Direct Relief for their COVID-19 response efforts. The auction ended on May 7th after receiving nearly 800 bids and raising $75,000, which was matched by eBay For Charity, bringing the total to $150,000.
Taylor handpicked 13 guitars from his personal collection and signed them. All 13 guitars sold in the auction. He listed Fender, Gibson and more and also included one Ibanez electric bass. One of the guitars featured was a gold metallic Gibson Memphis Dave Grohl DG-335. It’s number 237 of only 400 of its kind. Taylor said each guitar came with a case and certificate of authenticity.

In response to the Covid-19 emergency, eBay’s has said that they are matching dollar for dollar (up to $1 million) through May 31st auctions go that support the Direct Relief organization.
Slipknot is scheduled to headline the final day of Rock USA 2020, July 18th.
