Korn posted a cryptic teaser on Twitter recently that appears to “spell out” the phrase “The Devil Went Down To Georgia” – check it out for yourself below. That tease may be referring to an upcoming cover of the song by Charlie Daniels, who recently passed.
In 2018, Korn frontman Jonathan Davis said that band had previously unreleased covers of The Charlie Daniels Band‘s “The Devil Went Down To Georgia” and Billy Squier‘s “The Stroke“. Both of those songs may have been put aside for a Korn covers album, which supposedly the band already has 5 or 6 songs done already.
According to Davis, the covers album has been a work in progress for a long time and whenever they get a little free time, they put together a couple songs. Korn guitarist Brian “Head” Welch has said that with the downtime due to COVID-19, that could give them the window they are looking for.
