Comedy Central announced that South Park is going to have its first one-hour special on Wednesday, September 30th at 7 p.m. CST, and they are going to tackle COVID-19. The trailer for the special episode has Randy Marsh announcing his “pandemic special” (most likely referring to his new strain of marijuana), while Cartman is fighting the return to school, Kyle is concerned about the spread of germs, and announcement of a police officer as their new teacher. The trailer can be seen below.
South Park has never had an hour-long show in its 23 years on air. They have had several long stories, but they were broken up over several episodes. “The Pandemic Special” will premiere on Comedy Central but will also be available on HBO Max 24 hours after it first airs. No announcement has been made on when the official start of the show’s 24th season will premiere.
