Craving your favorite restaurant food but don’t feel like going out? Here’s five restaurant copycat recipes for you to try at home.
Red Lobster’s Cheddar Bay Biscuits
Arguably the best biscuits around! Mix your dry ingredients – flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt and garlic powder – together and cut in cold, cubed butter pieces. Add cheddar cheese and parsley and then stir in buttermilk until the dough comes together. Use an ice cream scoop to drop the dough on to a baking sheet. Bake for about 12 minutes, brush melted butter on the biscuits and return to the oven for another 2 minutes.
Taco Bell’s Mexican Pizza
If you haven’t gotten over the removal of the Mexican Pizza from Taco Bell’s menu, you’re in luck! Start by browning ground beef and then add taco seasoning. Heat oil in a shallow pan on your stovetop and fry tortillas for about 45 seconds on each side. Spread refried beans on the tortilla and top with ground beef. Top with another tortilla and add your sauce, cheese, tomatoes and olives. Bake for about 5-10 minutes and enjoy!
Panera’s Macaroni and Cheese
Create Panera’s creamy white cheddar mac and cheese at home! Cook your favorite pasta according to the package directions, drain and set aside. Melt butter in a large pot over medium heat. Whisk in flour and then add milk, heavy cream, salt, dry mustard and pepper. Reduce your heat to low and add white cheddar, stirring until melted. Add your cooked pasta and remove from heat for about 5 minutes, allowing the sauce to thicken.
Starbucks Lemon Loaf
Lemon loaf is heavenly – the perfect companion to your morning coffee. Start by combining flour, lemon pudding mix, baking powder, baking soda and salt in a mixing bowl and set aside. Mix eggs, sugar, butter, vanilla, lemon extract, lemon juice, oil and greek yogurt until combined. Slowly add the dry ingredients to the wet. Add lemon zest and mix until just combined. Bake in a prepared loaf pan for about 55 minutes and cool for 10 minutes before removing the loaf from the pan. Cool completely and top with frosting (butter, lemon juice, lemon extract and powdered sugar).
