Foo Fighters are the winners of the 2021 Global Icons award at the MTV VMA’s 2021. Yes, we know MTV and music videos don’t really go together anymore. Maybe YouTube should take it over? For whatever reason though winning a VMA is still a big deal and it was pretty amazing to see Dave Grohl and company accept this award and hit the stage to perform a couple of classic Foo Fighter songs and “Shame Shame” from their latest album Medicine at Midnight. MTV selected Foo Fighters as their Global Icon Award recipient because of their “unparalleled career and continued impact and influence has maintained a unique level of global success in music and beyond.”
