Megadeth has been working on a new album for years, and fans will have to continue waiting for its release.
The group has been sharing steady updates on the progress on the album, sharing their first clips from the studio dating back to before the pandemic began. Vocalist Dave Mustaine has been gradually sharing information via the paid video message service known as Cameo, sharing not only the title of the album, but also leaking a clip of one of the new songs “Life In Hell.”
The album, titled The Sick, The Dying, and The Dead, has had multiple release dates scheduled over the years. Most recently, Mustaine has said the band was targeting a 2022 spring release date, which would have perfectly timed out with the second leg of the “Metal Tour of the Year” featuring Lamb Of God, Trivium, and In Flames. However Mustaine has since changed that timeline in a recent interview.
“The whole process has been delayed, so it’s just gotten moved back again. We’re going to be doing, I believe at the time I’m not sure, but I believe at the time when the record comes out this summer we’ll be on a tour that we’re going to be announcing, but I can’t really get into that right now because I don’t know for sure the dates.”
