One of my favorite bands growing up and one I’m still so stoked is making good music is Underoath. I had the chance to talk with Aaron, drummer and one of the vocalists for the band, about their new album and how it came about. This interview was a total rush and it was really cool to see a guy get into the intricacies that go into writing music and the peril of reimaging the sound of a band every time you go to record music.
Some of the ideas of the album come from thoughts of what is real and what’s not real. He said he and Spencer wanted to keep the lyrics a bit ambiguous when it came to the themes while avoiding making a full story based album like ‘The Wall’ or ‘Tommy’.
