It’s a sad day for metal…
Yesterday afternoon (May 11th), the news broke that The Black Dahlia Murder vocalist Trevor Strnad passed away. In a statement put out by the band on social media they offered no official cause of death, however they included the phone number for the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline. Everything about this is heartbreaking. The statement and social media post can be viewed below.
“It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Trevor Scott Strnad. Beloved son, brother, and Shepard of good times, he was loved by all that met him. A walking encyclopedia of all things music. He was a hugger, a writer, and truly one of the world’s greatest entertainers. His lyrics provided the world with stories and spells and horror and whimsy. It was his life to be your show.

Strnad co-founded the Black Dahlia Murder in 2001 along with guitarist Brian Eschbach. As a person, Strnad is remembered as a generous, fun-loving spirit who made everyone feel welcomed.
Our hearts here at Razor bleed for the surviving members of the band, and for Trevor’s friends and family.
