You may recall the famous “WHAT THE F*** IS UP DENNY’S?!” callout in a viral video which depicts a hardcore show going down inside a Denny’s restaurant. Known as the “Denny’s Grand Slam,” the band Live Without delivered quite a memorable performance. Maybe you’ve even been lucky enough to attend a Denny’s hardcore show. The latest installment of restaurant hardcore shows takes the party to a Sonic Drive-In, and its phenomenal.
Hundreds of metalheads gather in the parking lot of a New Jersey Sonic location to let our some rage while feasting on endless burgers and tots. The bands on the bill were Gel, Scowl, Exhibition, Chemical Fix, and Phantom. Wild video from the event shows a guy spitting in the singer of Phantom’s face, someone crowd surfing, fire breathing, a guy eating a corn dog and even some fireworks. Sounds like a party to me!
So for now it’s not what the f*** is up Denny’s, it’s what the f*** is up Sonic! Check out wild video of the Sonic Slam below!
The original “Denny’s Grand Slam” is somewhat infamous. As the story goes, a Denny’s location in Houston, TX. was closing and this group of scene kids got together to rent out the banquet hall for a night. The end result was a beautiful event that would likely only serve as a funny meme for hardcore kids. While it was thought that something like this would never happen again, several other Denny’s show popped up across the country years later making for epic scenes of mosh pits and pancakes.
