GREEN BAY, Wis–A Green Bay man who killed his ex-girlfriend and her mother wants to be released from a mental institution. Jacob Cayer files for conditional release just two years after he was found to be “not guilty by reason of mental disease or defect” on two counts of First Degree Intentional Homicide in Brown County Court.
Cayer stabbed Sabrina and Sunny Teague to death in an attack at their Hobart home in 2016. A jury found him guilty–but also determined he was not responsible for his actions due to mental illness. Cayer is also appealing that initial conviction, claiming he was not allowed to introduce other evidence that he was framed.
No hearings on his release request are scheduled.
