Our friends in From Ashes To New have released a new track to announce the upcoming release of their latest record Blackout due out July 28th. The song, which features a video remineicent of Christian Bale’s protrayol of Patrick Bateman in American Psycho, is about relationships gone toxic. Matt Brandy Berry continues.
‘So many of us fall victim to the classic toxic relationship, feeling like you can’t live without someone but knowing you’d be better off if you could. Oftentimes these feelings are mutual, but neither of you can see it. Sometimes we just need an anthem to remind us that being stuck isn’t always the only option and violence never is.’
When we spoke to Matt about the album before anything was announced he had this to say about the album names of albums past and the next one coming.
‘…if you go back through our discography and you listen to the music and then you look at the year, and then you go, ‘Man they may have been on to something!’…I can’t tell you the name of the album we are hoping to release early 2023 but I will tell you that I said to Danny (lead vocalist) I said, “if this album title is prophetic, I’m done.” (laughs) This is gonna be terrible if this is prophetic!’
