Last week we started seeing the message from Ghost that “Jesus is Coming.” That’s a thing we see on local billboards heading into Easter every year but from Ghost? Now we know why. On Easter Sunday they released to the world their cover of the 1992 Genesis song “Jesus He Knows Me.” You can see the video below, but it does come with the warning of “Viewer Discretion Advised.” When you click play it will bring you to the website for YouTube and the Ghost channel.
On top of the song they also announced a new covers E.P. called Phantomime featuring covers from Tina Turner, Iron Maiden and more. A promotional piece from Ghost’s record label lists the five covered artists and explains that “Phantomime pays tribute in equal measure to every one of these unlikely bedfellow influences while stamping them all with Ghost’s undeniable sonic signature.”
- “See No Evil” Television (1977)
- “Jesus He Knows Me” Genesis (1992)
- “Hanging Around” The Stranglers (1977)
- “Phantom of the Opera” Iron Maiden (1980)
- “We Don’t Need Another Hero” Tina Turner (1985)
‘Phatomime’ will be released on physical and across streaming services from May 18.
Of course, before we get to “Jesus He Knows Me” there was a new Ghost chapter released leading up to the release.
