They came.
This past Friday (April 14), alternative pioneers blink-182 played their first show since reuniting with estranged guitarist and vocalist Tom DeLonge at the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival in California. This performance came as a surprise to all, as the band had only announced they would be playing just one day before they hit the stage. It marked the first time bassist Mark Hoppus, drummer Travis Barker, and DeLonge shared the stage publicly since 2014.
blink-182 took the stage in the Sahara Tent, which usually hosts EDM music. They kicked off their 50-minute set with “Family Reunion” before going into other classic hits like “What’s My Age Again?,” “The Rock Show,” “I Miss You” and “All The Small Things.” This performance also marked the first live glimpse of new music from blink, as they performed their most recent single “EDGING” for the first time. Complete with the immature and inappropriate onstage shenanigans that blink is known for, the performance was everything fans could have asked for.
