Queen’s Roger Taylor has addressed speculation that his son Rufus Taylor will be joining Foo Fighters behind the drum kit on their upcoming tour.
With this tour being the first time the band has performed since Taylor Hawkins’ passing, it’s been unclear who will be joining the band as their drummer. We do know that Roger Taylor was quite close with Hawkins, and had even made him the Godfather to Rufus.
Rufus has also already performed with the band in the past. Following the death of Hawkins, he performed ‘Best of You’ with Foo Fighters at the Taylor Hawkins tribute concerts in Los Angeles and London. You can watch one of those performances below.
According to Planet Radio, in a recent interview with BBC Radio 2, Rogers Taylor was asked about whether or not Rufus will be the one performing with Foo Fighters on this tour. His response was, “Well, he does play brilliantly with them. He knows all their stuff, knows them all very well. He did play ‘Best of You’ with the Foos, and it was phenomenal at Wembley, and at The Forum in LA. What exactly is happening now, I don’t know.”
We will find out by the end of May who will be the one joining the band when they take the stage at their first stop in New Hampshire on May 24.
