APPLETON, Wis–An Appleton school lands a national honor. Houdini Elementary is named a Blue Ribbon School by the US Department of Education.
Houdini is honored for “exemplary achievement gap closing”, improving the standardized test scores of low-income students and students of color. Evans Elementary in Fond du Lac was one of the other seven Wisconsin schools to earn a blue ribbon.
Nationwide, just 353-schools received that honor.
