Jolly from Bad Omens sat down, well tbh leaned on a table, with me to talk about the state of the band and what we can expect from them. One of those things we can expect is new music! We’ve known they’re working on it for a few months now but asking Jolly about their approach made the idea of new stuff coming even more real.
‘…what we are writing seems to be some really cool stuff so I’m really excited to see where it goes…I’m sure we’re going to be playing a lot but we’re all writing as well, we’re trying to coordinate that in a stress-free manner…we noticed we cannot write with stress…’
Jolly is an extremely creative person, along with the rest of the band, and I was curious how someone can fine tune the art of creativity.
‘You keep trying…stay creative as in keep trying to write even though nothing comes out, it’s like kicking a ball. …eventually you get flawless at it…it’s the same way when you start thinking about music, or like writing music, essentially music is in the air all the time you just gotta connect to those things and hope that calls to you, the more you think about it the easier it will become…you just let the fricken universe write it through you rather than you sit there…like when you think of a thought (it didn’t) originate from you it originating from elsewhere…it’s radio waves…’
It got a little weird there for a bit but it was so fun to talk to him and see where his creative side comes from.
