Powerman 5000 released their LP’s second single, “Dancing Like We’re Dead” and announced their new studio album Abandon Ship coming May 10 via Cleopatra Records. Check out the new track below.
Produced by Matt McJunkin, Abandon Ship will include nine additional original tracks, with a bonus track included on the CD edition of the album–a revamped version of Powerman 5000’s 2001 track “Bombshell”. It is the band’s first album since The Noble Rot was released in 2020.
Powerman 5000 released “1999”, another track on the upcoming album, on April 11, already incorporating it into their live sets and receiving great feedback from fans.
As Blabbermouth puts it:
“Dancing Like We’re Dead” evokes images of a postmortem rave-up, populated with severed heads and undertakers, riding a dark and gritty groove that’s both chilling and infectious. With Spider One at the turntable, graves will rock and heads are gonna roll! Who said the afterlife would be a bore?
