Over the last few years we’ve been getting singles (which is nice) and promises of a full album coming from the British metalcore-rs Bring Me The Horizon only to receive postponements and members leaving instead. Well now after the tumultuous period of waiting we are rewarded with NeX GEn! I still don’t get the random capitalizations but maybe it’s code for something that’ll be revealed in the third and final album of the Post Human series. The themes of this album are that of hope and features a euphoric post-hardcore vibe that can be heard in earlier singles ‘Amen’ and ‘DiE4u’.

When asked why there were so many delays the band stated that they thought lockdown was going to last longer than it did and when everything opened up their touring schedules and other responsibilities came back with more ferocity and made for tough creative sessions. The other reason was that the concept of this album grew far beyond what they had originally planned. According to Oli Sykes.
“It’s a real concept album, with a full narrative that connects to the first record, but the concept is hidden and buried. Some people aren’t going to be interested, but for some people, it could be like a self-help book. There’s a lot of things in there, some of it’s quite clear, but a lot of it is cryptic and hidden. People are gonna have to work it out.”
While the album is currently available digitally, physical copies are due on September 27th.
