Mike Protich, Patrick Gerisa, and David McGarry, all formerly of Red Sun Rising, have a new band called “The Violent.” In 2020, they announced the new band while releasing a song called “Fly On the Wall.” Since then, we haven’t heard much… until now.
The Violent have paid tribute to The Doors for their latest release with a cover of the classic single “People Are Strange.”
Frontman Mike Protich said of the song:
“‘People Are Strange’ became poignant in this new world we are living in; a world of parameters that we feel pressured to live within. This type of pressure can make one feel more of an outcast and more alone than ever before. We focused on these concepts and emotions during this process while the original holds a more whimsical quirkiness.”
