Ready to bang your head?
I Prevail has dropped the final single ahead of their album True Power which is set to be released at midnight tonight. (Aug 19) The New track is titled “Self-Destruction”, and it has a unique sound that differs every so slightly from what I Prevail has done in the past.
I Prevail has been known to incorporate rhythmic vocal parts as well as electronic elements in their songs, specifically starting with their 2019 release Trauma. This song feels more like a hip-hop song with metal vocals and breakdowns, and that is just fine by me. There is hardly any melody within the vocal parts, as vocalist Eric Vanlerberghe and Brian Burkheiser play off of each other, combining rapping with screaming as digital beats dance between heavy guitar riffs.
The music video depicts a world trapped by illusion in a digital age, where people are plugged in 24/7 being force-fed information until they inevitably self destruct.
I Prevail will hit the road at the end of the summer in support of their album True Power. The “True Power Tour” has two legs that will feature artists Stand Atlantic, Yours Truly, Fir For A King, and Pierce The Veil. The tour will make a stop at Oshkosh Arena on September 14th of this year.
